A regime that couldn’t build trust with its own people is now selling ‘Ximdo’ to others. Engagement wasn’t the priority for three decades. Why the urgency now? Why wasn’t the focus on real development or cooperation with neighbors like #Djibouti or #Ethiopia instead?

Eritrea "advancing gender equality, strengthening access to justice for women and girls, and protecting their dignity and rights." If only this was true. Women trapped in National Service are at risk of abuse And the behaviour of Eritrean troop in the Tigray war was despicable
Eritrea at the UN@Eritrea_UN

Today, at the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (#CSW70), H.E. Sophia Tesfamariam reaffirmed #Eritrea’s commitment to advancing gender equality, strengthening access to justice for women and girls, and protecting their dignity and rights. @AmbStesfamariam further: -underlined that marking 30 years since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, #Eritrea highlighted progress through legal reforms ensuring equality before the law, expanded women’s rights to land and productive resources, and strengthened labour protections. -highlighted the legal and institutional reforms implemented since independence, including the repeal of discriminatory colonial laws and the establishment of equality before the law as a national principle. These reforms strengthened women’s rights in family law, ensured equal access to land and productive resources, expanded labour protections, and enabled women to transmit nationality to their children. -underscored Proclamation No. 158/2007 banning female genital mutilation, one of the earliest legislative bans in the region, as well as #Eritrea ’s community court system, where women increasingly serve as judges and leaders, strengthening grassroots access to justice. -emphasized that peace, stability, and community participation remain essential foundations for achieving gender equality and sustainable development, while recognizing the historic role of #Eritrean women in the liberation struggle, where they served as fighters, educators, medics, and organizers, helping transform social norms and shape #Eritrea ’s nation-building process. 🇪🇷 #CSW70 #GenderEquality #AccessToJustice #Eritrea #WomenEmpowerment

Today I prepared for iftar a wonderful Sudanese salad called Dakwa salad. We are waiting for the Maghrib call to prayer to break the fast here in Türkiye. I hope we will eat it with our Sudanese brothers and sisters as soon as possible in Sudan

Concerning new reports of Eritrean soldiers infiltrating Ethiopia through the Sudanese town of Hamdayet dressed as civilians and also crossing disguised as Ethiopian soldiers via Tigray border with large numbers starting to gather in Mekelle. Anyone care? adf-magazine.com/2026/03/tensio…

There is no war against the people of #Eritrea. There is no war against the people of #Tigray in #Ethiopia. The people are not the enemy. If there is any confrontation, it is with political groups whose decisions have brought suffering to our region, not with innocent citizens.

Calling millions of people ‘banda’ doesn’t make you bold — it makes you historically illiterate. #Oromo resistance didn’t start yesterday, and it won’t end because of your insults. @StalinTeklu

Today is the day the sun broke through a sky that had been dark for all of Africa and Black people! It is the day Ethiopia triumphed over invading forces who had encroached upon her borders and violated her sovereignty and her people's freedom on the mountains of Adwa. It is the day Ethiopia preserved civilization, which had remained unviolated for three thousand years. Our fore fathers and fore mothers deserve our utmost respect who through the sacrifice of their blood handed down to us an Ethiopia in which we live with pride, alongside a marvellous civilization, history, and great honour. We, the Ethiopians of today, must sustain the country our ancestors died to build by living in unity and love. Learning from them, we must say ‘No’ to poverty, division, and backward thinking, and transition Ethiopia toward prosperity. The time when Ethiopia becomes even greater than it has ever been, is not far off!
