My game of the year is Judero. Obviously. Album was Dostrotime - Squarepusher, I'm usually about a year behind with new music. Film was Joker 2 because I had the cinema to myself and it had a Jacques Brel tune in it, honestly loved it though.

I liked other games a lot too. Thank Goodness You're Here & Cape Hideous, got Mouthwashing, Threshold and Arctic Eggs to catch up on after Slitterhead. I wasn't crazy about most of the popular films this year, need to see Platform 2. I could do with some music recommendations.

Everyone was happy about that Castlevania DS Collection announcement. 3 fantastic games. Don't think anybody I know bought it. There's too many of these things now.

Fully expect Shadow Labyrinth will be a good game with a bunch of unique, creative ideas, but not a soul will buy it because there are far too many Metroidvanias as is, and "gritty Pac-Man" is a stinking aesthetic.

@FaceOffOnVHS ye there isnt much ambiguity in CoP, and the prior ones didnt have much exploration. 2 feels to me like they're realising what they had been going for the entire time, but alas. i hope you enjoy it at some point and if not oh well dats life. sorry to burst in all well actually :)

@EuanDeware I think part of it is how granular the POIs on the map are. You have to come across them but they're laid out very tightly. tbf tho I haven't played CoP in a decade and could only do like 2 hours of Stalker 2, so my take isnt super informed

I've decided Stalker 2 is bad. Not because it doesn't run on my computer and I'm bitter, but because everything is round and smooth, and it does that thing where every action has a little pre-canned animation that plays.
