🇪🇺 Questa mattina ho partecipato alla sessione plenaria del Comitato delle Regioni per presentare i risultati della revisione di medio termine della politica di coesione e il lavoro sulla prossima strategia per il "Right to Stay". Dalla revisione di medio termine emerge un messaggio chiaro: la flessibilità funziona; 💪 la semplificazione funziona; 🚀 il dialogo con i territori funziona. 🗣️ È su queste basi che dobbiamo continuare a costruire. Ed è con questo approccio che stiamo lavorando anche alla strategia per il "Right to Stay".💡 Perché rafforzare competitività e coesione significa aiutare i territori a diventare più attrattivi, più dinamici e capaci di offrire opportunità concrete, soprattutto ai giovani. 🌍 L'obiettivo è rendere il "restare" una scelta possibile, e non una necessità di partire. ‼️ 🇬🇧This morning I took part in the plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions to present the results of the mid-term review of Cohesion Policy and the work on the upcoming “Right to Stay” strategy. A clear message emerges from the mid-term review: flexibility works💪 simplification works🚀 dialogue with territories work 🗣️ These are the foundations on which we must continue to build. And it is with this same approach that we are also working on the “Right to Stay” strategy.💡 Because strengthening competitiveness and cohesion means helping territories become more attractive, more dynamic, and better able to offer concrete opportunities, especially for young people.🌍 Our objective is to make “staying” a real choice — not leaving out of necessity.‼️

🇪🇺 Cosa spinge un giovane a lasciare la propria casa? E cosa, invece, lo convince a restare? Un lavoro stabile? Una casa accessibile? Servizi di qualità? La possibilità di garantire un futuro per sé e per la propria famiglia? E perché, ancora oggi, tanti giovani sentono di dover partire? Oggi al Parlamento europeo abbiamo lanciato il lavoro sulla strategia per il “Right to Stay”. Insieme a @EnricoLetta, @CoR_President e Makis Keravnos abbiamo discusso di come lavorare insieme per aiutare le regioni europee a diventare più forti, attrattive e competitive. Perché il futuro dell’Europa non si costruisce solo nelle grandi capitali, ma anche nelle aree rurali, nelle isole, nelle regioni di confine, nelle città medie e nei piccoli comuni. La vera sfida è garantire opportunità concrete a tutti, ovunque si viva. Trasformare il “dover partire” nella libertà di scegliere. Il “Right to Stay” parte da qui: dalla volontà di rafforzare i territori, creare opportunità e permettere ai giovani di restare, crescere e costruire il proprio futuro nel luogo che chiamano casa. A stable job? Affordable housing? Quality services? The possibility to build a future for themselves and their family? And why, even today, do so many young people still feel they have to leave? Today at the European Parliament we launched the work on the “Right to Stay” strategy. Together with Enrico Letta, Kata Tüttő and Makis Keravnos, we discussed how to work together to help European regions become stronger, more attractive and more competitive. Because Europe’s future is not built only in major capitals, but also in rural areas, islands, border regions, medium-sized cities and small towns. The real challenge is to ensure concrete opportunities for everyone, wherever they live. To transform the feeling of “having to leave” into the freedom to choose. The “Right to Stay” starts here: from the determination to strengthen territories, create opportunities and allow young people to stay, grow and build their future in the place they call home.
