2006 is an amazing, wonderful, diverse, brilliant, and FUN format I made an effort this summer to finish a few decks and bring my gauntlet to a total of 16 decks, including a balance of unique basic, stage 1, stage 2, ex, and non-ex Pokemon. Super happy with how it's turned out!

@fram_not_farm Yes, DCE made Masters Finals of Worlds every year it was legal except 2014 (the Virizion/Genesect mirror), where it made Top 4. DCE did not win in 2011 (Magneboar), 2013 (Darkrai), 2014 (Virgen), and 2015 (Archiestoise).

An off-season during the exact time of year when students have the most free time is a bafflingly terrible decision. I’ve had very limited time for events this year due to my master’s studies and I was looking forward to attending more during my summer break. Now, they’re gone.

@UmbralNA In 04, a Stage 2 single-prize Pokemon whose primary attack is 3 energy for 50 damage with an upside is the standard for power. There are disruption trainers and great consistency trainers, without ultra powerful cards like Cess, Pow!, or Admin. Warp Point and Shaman are just fine

@UmbralNA 04 is not the deepest or most complex format. But it occupies a space where Pokemon are mostly well-balanced without being busted, and there are just enough Trainers to accomplish whatever goal your deck has without being too powerful for an opponent to stop you completely.

If you're looking for more 04 action, consider playing in Full Grip's 2004 tournament on June 27! I am very sad that I will not be able to attend due to a prior engagement, but I will be eagerly keeping up with the event!
