Alabama Baseball added a commitment last night from Samford transfer pitcher Evan Steckmesser (@EvanSteckmesser). Steckmesser began his college career at Snead State CC (AL) where he spent two seasons. He finished with a 2-3 record and four saves as a sophomore. In two seasons at Samford, he held a 2-3 record with a 3.91 ERA. Steckmesser threw 69 innings allowing 30 earned runs and striking out 69 batters. He walked just 18 batters in two seasons as well. Steckmesser should provide experience and a reliable presence in Alabama’s bullpen next season.
