Byrd also scores an impressive 21 introits over 35 different broadcasts (the most popular being Haec Dies). 3 of the introits also appear as anthems (Civitas, Praise Our Lord all ye Gentiles, and Vigilate)

@DrDavidPrice @OliviaSparkhall For anthems Cecilia McDowall and Judith Bingham both have 4 broadcasts each. That puts them into the top 30 composers for Canticles and top 50 for anthems (there is a much greater number of different anthems sung)

@DrDavidPrice @OliviaSparkhall Interesting questions! The boys and girls choir question is not recorded in the information i've got. For Canticles Judith Bingham (5 broadcasts - level with Darke, Walton, Finzi and a few others) and Roxanna Panufnik (3 broadcasts - level with Brewer, Batten others)

So previous stats clearly showed the UK as a whole is not in a post-Stanford era, however Oxford and Cambridge are clearly post-Stanford Universities.

At Cambridge, Radcliffe responses, at 9 broadcasts, had nearly double the number of the next most frequent set, Smith, with 5 broadcasts.

Surprisingly close in the number of broadcasts despite Oxford have no representation in the top 10 most frequent broadcasting choirs. Note the Cambridge figure excludes St John's advent as it's not evensong.

Over all 625 broadcasts, on average, Howells canticles come up 12% of the time, Stanford 7%.

And the final whistle goes... Howells Gloucester Service is the winner of the Evensong Canticles World Cup! What a cracking final. Coll Reg took Gloucester all the way.

@TheEvensongCup If we group all Canticles by composer we can see Howells and Stanford have a clear lead of the others, but we also get some surprising entries - Byrd in at #5, Victoria #6, Francis Jackson at #7 and Gibbons at #8. In total there were around 180 composers of canticles recorded!

@TheEvensongCup What a final! And I can now reveal the most broadcast set on BBC Choral Evensong - and a shock result! The World Cup winner down in 10th place, Coll Reg holding strong in 2nd, Stanford mid-table, and 3 top 25 sets not even in the world cup (#12 Wood in F is fab)
