A powerful metaphor for Everton is Kintsugi, the Japanese art of finding beauty in fracture & flaw. The crowd at HDS last night and the team on the field, united in resilience, embodying the spirit of the blues, is a golden glue, one which offers repair of our fractures & flaws.

Drew 3-3 to Man City and I feel like we’ve lost 6-0. Three weeks in a row conceding a stoppage-time winner or equaliser. This football club is an experiment in human suffering.

“The message is clear that supporters feel that their loyalty is being stretched and exploited.” Everton Fan Advisory Board polled fans on club’s ticket-price increases (some approaching 10%).... •       74% believe increases are unfair •       74% feel new pricing structure offers limited or poor value for money •       81% feel loyalty was not appreciated in the pricing decision •       82% rate Club comms as poor or limited •       62% say trust in the Club has eroded •       85% believe supporter views were not considered in the pricing decision •       94% want structured annual consultation between the Club and FAB on pricing decisions… “We’ve been clear since presenting proposals for a price freeze that we recognise the financial pressures facing the Club and the importance of being competitive both on and off the pitch,” says @EFC_FanAdvisoryBoard. Emphasises loyalty of fans, passionate about watching their team. “But placing an additional financial burden on supporters for an estimated short-term revenue gain of £1.5m is misguided and fails to understand the true impact on supporters and the inevitable erosion of trust.” On poll...1700 fans responded. 86% season ticket holders, 94% been supporting club for 20+ years. #EFC

We have wrote an open letter to @FA_PGMOL regarding the current state of officiating in the Premier League. A copy of this letter has also been supplied to Angus Kinnear for his meeting with PGMOL.

Sorry mate, but the rise in ST amounts to only £1m, irrelevant for SCR. As Uli Hoeness famously said, that amount can be found in a 5 minute negotiation by the club, whereas the cost to the average fan is very, very painful. People are talking about trading off higher ST prices with buying food & drink at the ground, so the net increase to club & its sponsors will be lower. It is not an acceptable strategy, given that TFG inherited the stadium & that has delivered multiple revenue streams. TFG have got this one wrong - but it isn't their fault. They take advice from Kinnear & the commercial team who, despite detailed discussions with @EFC_FanAdvisory, went ahead. It is the kind of pig headed nonsense we put up with under Elstone & co, and it is irritating to see the new leadership team behave in this way. Its an idiotic way to burn up goodwill, and demonstrates a tin ear. We are in a cost of living crisis & you'd think a football club could find another way to make £1m rather than squeezing every last drop from the average ST holder.
Peter Morris@petermorris1878

@CitizenSuburbia @joe_thomas18 The money has to come from somewhere, and that includes those who pay to watch the team. SCR will leave clubs with becalmed turnover cut off, in a vicious cycle of mediocrity.

The Friedkins have made Everton stronger but if they want the club at its best, they must work with fans. A piece on season tickets, commercial ambition, the feeling TFG haven’t really ‘got’ Everton yet and the importance of working to correct that ⬇️ liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

Medical debt is still the No1 cause of bankruptcy in the US, linked to 66% of filings. Even with insurance, sky-high deductibles, copays & uncovered bills push families over the edge when illness strikes. One health crisis = financial ruin for too many. #DontBelieveTheHype
