"If everyone picked red, everyone would live" is an important point. Not because there's any appreciable chance that everyone will actually pick red, but because it shows that everyone who dies chose to die.

The premise of the hypothetical is that you don’t know other people’s votes nor can you influence them. Otherwise red isn’t even worth thinking about This is all retarded anyways. You know a percentage of people will pick blue no matter what. You’re okay with them dying by pressing red and you have no clue who it is. Could be a friend, a crush, a relative, a niece or nephew, etc. Whereas if you just put aside your selfishness and hit blue, no one dies. Not one
