I stopped by Access Bank today to complain about my X payment that still hasn’t reflected. To explain, I opened my app and showed her that the funds had already been sent out from Stripe. While checking my transaction history, she paused and asked, “Wait… all this money is from Twitter?” I just replied, “yes na” She glanced at her colleague and went, “Oboyyy.”

The $11 million “transportation” controversy (2016): When the U.S. delivered those MRAPs to Nigeria under the Excess Defense Articles program, reports surfaced claiming: Nigeria spent $11 million just to transport 24 MRAPs and that immediately raised eyebrows because: These vehicles were supposedly “donated”. Transportation shouldn’t cost anywhere near that scale relative to asset value The government response was… interesting. Officials, including Defence Minister Mansur Dan-Ali, denied Nigeria paid the $11m, claiming instead: The U.S. covered the transport cost But they never disclosed the actual breakdown. That leaves a gap as there were no transparent logistics accounting Conflicting narratives in the public space.

This story is one of many that I'll be sharing, to drive a particular kind of awareness on the rot in our defense procurements. From the archives: July 2016: The US government donated USED 24 Mine-Resistant Armour Protected (MRAP) vehicles to the Nigerian military, as part of its commitment to the fight against insurgency. The used vehicles, valued at N2.2 billion ($11 million), were officially presented to the army in Lagos a Thursday by Patrick Doyle, representative of the US government. “As part of the continuing support from United States to the government, and the people of Nigeria to defeat Boko Haram, I am proud to stand here today as the representative of the US secretary of defence, Ashton Carter, and commander and the representative of the US Africa command, General David Rodriguez, to present the donation of this 24 Mine-Resistant Armor-Protected (MRAP) vehicles to the Nigerian army,” Doyle said. He added that the equipment needed to be serviced and fixed with good spare parts before they could start operating. “The repairs of the vehicle is up to the Nigerian government to do; they can repair them on their own if they have the facility to do that, but of course, the spare parts are very particular to this vehicle and we have been in discussion with the army previously and we are working out the modalities of how we will get those parts to them. “They will have to order those parts from the United States and we will work out those conditions. “Nigeria is also in the process of receiving eight more of this vehicle through the same programme, which is called the excess defence article program, designed to transfer excess US military equipment to partner nation. “We will work for even more opportunity to utilise this programme in support of Nigerian effort in the north-east in the future. The 24 vehicles cost $11million, the other eight cost $7.4 million.” The next post will come as a quote of this initial post. Walk with me...

This is the moment to change, to transform the story of #Cameroon. The time has come, today and not tomorrow, now and not in the future, to restore the mosaic of unity by bringing together the diversity and riches of the country and the continent. In this way, it will be possible to create a society in which peace and reconciliation reign. #ApostolicJourney

At yesterday's convention, it was evidence that this combo will sell, because all one could hear people chanting was Obi! Obi!! Obi!!! Kwankwaso! Kwankwaso!! Kwankwaso!!! Now, what should we tell Atiku @atiku for him to understand the people's wish? Peter Obi is the next president.

There are over 18 million identity-verified users on Pi. But there is one clear difference between Pi’s users and others. 1 million verified users on Pi ≠ 1 million users on other networks. Most networks measure growth in accounts. Few measure it in verified users. There’s a difference. Pi recognized the importance of identity verification early on and that unverified account creation is simply not enough. Verified identities are needed for any meaningful transactions, especially in real-world economies. Any time an asset (like crypto, fiat currency, property, etc.) is transferred, it raises a basic question of identity: who is sending it, and who is receiving it. If those identities aren’t clear, it becomes difficult to trust that the transfer is valid or that it went to the right person. Therefore, Pi Network has built a fully KYC-verified Mainnet ecosystem. Because when users are verified: Spam drops. Trust increases. Utility becomes more reliable.

This may be a bit lengthy but if you're a Nigerian, please read. I am putting this here today, so if my tomorrow never comes, I hope you will read from my today. Now let me write this as a serving soldier who has been to many places across this country. One thing I have realized is this in Nigeria, we are all human. We share the same blood, the same tears, the same hopes. No tribe, no region is greater than another, and that alone is a beautiful truth. But do you know that the strength of the military is the civilians we swore an oath to protect? The country… and every single one of you in it. And it breaks my heart that many times, the same people we sacrifice our comfort, our freedom, and even our families for… are the same people who insult, demoralize, and condemn us the most. Still… that will not stop us. A few days ago, something happened. An operation was carried out, terrorists were eliminated, yet before facts could breathe, accusations were already flying. False narratives spreading faster than truth. And I asked myself when did we become enemies to the people we are dying for? It reminded me of the story of Moses. A man who carried his people through pain, hunger, and thirst. A man who felt their suffering so deeply that in a moment of exhaustion and emotion, he struck the rock harder than he was told… just to give them enough water. Yet, he was punished. Denied the very promise he suffered for. Sometimes, that is what it feels like. We stand in the heat, in the dust, in the unknown… carrying a nation on our backs, only to return to words that wound deeper than bullets. Dear Nigerians… the military is yours. We are your brothers, your sisters, your sons, your friends. We come from every tribe, every religion, every corner of this country. If one man wrongs you, it should not define all of us. Because out here, we don’t fight as tribes. We fight as one Nigeria. Do you know what keeps a soldier going in the darkest moments? It is not just training. It is not just duty. It is the belief that somewhere back home… there are people who understand, who support, who appreciate the sacrifice. You are our strength. When you speak the truth, you strengthen us. When you defend us, you protect our morale. When you stand with us, you remind us why we must never give up. Nigeria is at war, yes. But it is not a war we cannot win. Not when the people and the military stand together. Not when we choose unity over division, truth over propaganda, and support over condemnation. We are out here giving our best sometimes our last for this country. All we ask… is that you stand with us. Because even on the battlefield, it is the thought of you, the people that put a smile on our faces and strength in our hearts. If my tomorrow never comes… remember this: We are not your enemies. We are the ones standing between you and them. A soldier doesn’t just need weapons. He needs his people We fought for you. Stand for us too. 🇳🇬 May Nigeria Succeed 🙏🇳🇬 May the Armed forces of Nigeria Succeed 🙏🇳🇬 May Patriotic Nigerian Succeed 🙏🇳🇬 God Bless Our Land 🇳🇬🫡 #Sentinel #ThankASoldier
