Fleet Week in Vancouver has now started, with HMCS VANCOUVER and HMCS MAX BERNAYS now alongside the Shipyard District in North Vancouver. HMVS REGINA will join tomorrow, and we will be joined by the Princess Royal to Commission MAX. Come on out and visit your RCN Vancouver.

Great to see VANCOUVER back at sea. Having just returned from an IAP deployment this past Christmas, this is a significant event post “crew swap” and extended maintenance period. The crew is now advancing their readiness in preparation for future operations…go Battle Cats.

A big shout out to LCdr James Ahlstrom for receiving a Comd CJOC Commendation for his leadership and determination as XO of WIN during a deployment to the IAP. After deploying in WIN a second time, James was promoted to Cdr and is now on second language training. #BZ James.

@WestCoastCmdre Such amazing vessels! I’m currently working with RCN Sail to get qualified and added to the roster of available skippers to take any of our four boats out. CFSA is running an excellent race program right now, we’ll have to get you out on the water with us. It’s a blast!

The Flt Chief and I recently toured a new sail training vessel. Now consisting of 4 sailboats, the RCN sail program trains Reg/Reserve Officers and NCM’s of all ranks, along with Cadets. This Bavaria 45 definitely stokes the debate between power vs sail.

Had a great outing a week ago, where the Fleet Chief and I, along with several PRO sailors and a few Fleet Bosn's had the opportunity to visit JSS 1 (aka the future HMCS PROTECTEUR). Happy to report that the hull is now in one full piece...and it is simply massive.
