1,250 hours of stitching! 🧵👏
On Thursday 9 July, the Opus Anglicanum Team within the Exeter Cathedral Tapisers went to London's Guildhall to witness the unveiling of the ‘Circle of Life’ project.
Over the course of a year, our team clocked up over 1,250 hours of stitching on the two panels that were allotted to us at Exeter Cathedral. We were one of the twelve Cathedrals who took part in this special endeavour.
The Worshipful Company of Upholders decided to create a piece of Opus Anglicanum artwork to celebrate their 400th Anniversary of receiving a Royal Charter.
The completion of this project was celebrated with a banquet in the Grand Hall of the Guildhall followed by the Unveiling of the finished embroidery: The Circle of Life. It is hoped that this will be displayed in Exeter Cathedral sometime over the next couple of years.
The photo, taken outside the main entrance of Guildhall, shows our team with the Upholder, David Woodward.
Well done, Tapisers!
