Students and staff donated to a collection table ran by our HCP faculty. This food is going to @StThomasFood, a charity that provides hot food for those in need. The team of volunteers will provide extra meals over the holiday period.

Scrapping the funding mid year seems outrageous to me. Yes it’s a small number of students but you can’t mess people’s GCSEs around like this.

@exitthelemming It was seeing him as "The Master Builder" at Bristol Old Vic in 1989 that inspired me to start writing plays.
And I still have an intense memory of him pausing during "Long Day’s Journey Into Night" in 1991, and feeling a kind of high voltage tension permeate the theatre.

Also this (not wholly serious) proposal of mine is related. Time changes don’t change the amount of daylight, they just move it round.
Doug Clow@dougclow
Fundamentally, messing with the clocks simply moves a limited resource around. Daylight savings time doesn't actually save daylight. We need to take action to improve the amount of daylight. That's the beauty of my Plan: don't move the clocks, move the country! 3/

@kermodeandmayo At times elegaic, uplifting, bleak, and wistful, "Nomadland" makes you see the draw of life on the
road.
Mark might choose "Women Talking" for the sound reason that not enough people have seen it. I've not seen it yet, for example.

@PortyRosie Making her own is an option. Probably a lot cheaper, and she could sell it as a sideline.

It's not perfect, but without strong independent ethical journalism we'd be even worse off
