Apart from worshipping the scenic landscapes from a hilltop, there’s plenty to do here, spending at least a night or two on its shores or one of the islands is very recommendable.

In the early morning, the islands weave through cotton candy-like streams of mist and, in the afternoon, they’re bathed in the warm glow of the sun.Later, they’re silhouetted against a dim sky . One day the islands vanished from sight completely, emerged later.

"Place of many little birds" "Bunyonyi" is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, and il is close to the border with Rwanda. The lake appeared from 2004 to 2009 on the 5,000 Ugandan shilling note under the title "Lake Bunyonyi and terraces".
