3D modeling usage: The pH in the subsurface soil is acidic (green), but a thin zone around the roots, known as the rhizosphere, is alkaline (purple). Plants are able to change the pH in the rhizosphere by releasing root exudates. Thanks Dr @Mel_Fraser1
