So sit down, boys and girls, because this is going to be a wild story. This past week (and more) has been a very stressful week for me! (This is the VERY short story.) I got my first female stalker, and oh boy, is she crazy. I don’t want to go into full details here because it would be 10 pages + long, but it seems she has been stalking me from the shadows for over two years now. She has also been trying to latch onto other content creators near me. She would overshare personal information unasked for in Discord and in private messages with people. We noticed that whenever she shared photos of her own choice, they were of different people and heavily edited. She would flip between different personalities depending on who she was talking to, whether in public or private. She would overwhelm me with constant spamming, but if I ignored her, she would then go bug my Discord members or even reach out to other content creators I was friends with. So I felt like I had to give her what she wanted just to shut her up. She claimed to be madly in love with me and told everyone in my community and others that she loved “a prince from across the sea” (those were her words, not mine). I kept telling her that I just wanted to be friends and encouraged her to make friends. She even admitted to one of my mods that I kept friend-zoning her. But she took me being nice to her as flirting. For example, when I casually said “Cute cosplay” in my Discord with others, she interpreted it as me saying I loved her or wanted to date her. She would twist my words and other people’s words to fit the version of me she wanted in her head. She refused to let go of the idea that “we would date one day,” even after being told over 20 times by me and others that I did not see her that way. My mistake was not dealing with her sooner. My bleeding heart felt bad for her based on the sad story she fed me, and I just wanted her to make friends who enjoyed the same things she did… which we later learned was just her trying to mirror everyone around her. I also made the mistake of starting to give her what she wanted because I just wanted her to leave my friends alone in the content creator space. Because the only time she would leave them alone would be if I gave her what she wanted (I know I'm a idiot, but again never said I was perfect, I just was tired from the lack of sleep, over spamming and just wanted it to all end) I should have listened to my gut, which told me something was off from the very beginning. But I doubted it at the wrong time, and this is what happened. The stress was really affecting my sleep and health. Since then, we’ve banned her, but she’s been moving on and trying to latch onto new targets. If those people don’t want to listen to my warning, that’s on them, not me. But this girl is not sane.
