Good morning!😊 It’s Sunday, but I woke up early this morning! Today, there’s a memorial service at the temple for the third anniversary of my parents’ passing (it’s been two years since they passed away, but in Japan, the third anniversary is observed in the traditional counting system). My mother passed away in January two years ago, and my father passed away in August of the same year. They were very close, so we decided to hold the services for both of them together during the pleasant spring weather. So, after working out at the gym, I’ll head to the temple! Today, my daughter successfully passed the screening for the apartment she’ll be living in! (She only had her part-time work history to show.) This will make it much easier for her to commute to college. She handled everything herself—negotiating with the real estate agent, presenting her terms, and even choosing the place. Five years ago, she suffered from depression and went through a very difficult time. She used to struggle with riding the train and being around crowds. But now, she’s decided to work part-time, save money, and manage her own rent and living expenses. (I offered to help, but she turned me down.) “A Word to Women I want to speak to you directly. Not as an apologist defending a doctrine. As someone who genuinely cares about what happens to you. Women are the reason I do this. Who trusted the process. And ended up alone anyway, wondering what they did wrong. You didn't do anything wrong. The system failed you. I feel that. I paid my own price believing the same lie. And I know what it costs women even more. So let me be straight with you about a few things. I understand the fear. I really do. This feels dangerous. The church spent decades teaching you that this was perverse, and that kind of conditioning doesn't disappear overnight. But here's what I want you to honestly consider. The system you've been defending isn't working. I wrote in my first book, Why Waiting Works, that you should "observe the masses and do the opposite" because the numbers don't lie. Fifty percent of marriages end in divorce. And a significant portion of the other fifty percent stays together for financial reasons or the kids, not because anyone is actually happy. I was talking about sexual purity when I wrote that, but the principle applies here too. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Why would you keep betting your future on a system producing those outcomes? Here's the honest question I want you to sit with. If a man had everything you were looking for, godly, strong, proven, faithful, the kind of man you'd actually want to build a life with, would you be willing to share him with another woman who felt the same way? Or would you rather have a faithful man you're not that excited about, all to yourself? Be honest. Most women, when they really think about it, choose the former. And here's what nobody tells you about that choice. Under biblical structure you don't just get a man you actually want. You get a covenant from day one. No games. No ambiguity. No "what are we." A man practicing biblical marriage is by definition someone who values marriage, takes it seriously, and is honest about who he is and what he wants. That alone puts him ahead of ninety percent of the men you've been dealing with. And think about this. Most women I talk to who have been cheated on tell me the same thing. The other woman wasn't what hurt most. The lying was. The betrayal. The years of deception. Biblical polygyny removes that entirely. There is no other woman in the dark. There is no secret. Everything is honesty and structure from the beginning. The man you marry under this framework cannot cheat on you with a second wife because that would require her to also be his wife. Which she would be. Openly. With your knowledge. The thing you feared most about sharing a man is already happening to you in secret. This just brings it into the light and puts a covenant around it. Dating and marriage were never supposed to be this hard or this confusing. The clarity you've been looking for was in the Bible the whole time. Most of you have never even considered this as a real possibility. I'm just asking you to consider it now. Go to Scripture. Go to God in prayer. Ask Him honestly whether what you've been taught lines up with what He actually said. If you're willing to humble yourself enough to do that, I think you'll be surprised what you find.
