@ToddZywicki @sgremminger You must be joking. Ignoring the 80+ hour weeks and nights/weekends residents work, I don’t know a single pediatrician who doesn’t have evening/weekend call hours where they answer parents’ phone calls, refill meds, and give advice.

I'm at the pediatrician office for a well child visit with my daughter. Appointment was 9:20. Vitals taken and paperwork filled out, but still waiting to see a doctor. Reason #30584 of why healthcare in the US sucks. Why can every other sector keep appts, but physicians can't?

@olsonplanner I was in the PICU and called down to the ED to hear about an admission. “4 year old with head injury, huge epidural hematoma, will come to you if she survives the OR.” She came up awake, breathing for herself, speaking in full sentences, and spelling words ❤️

@olsonplanner IMO high enough dose >> multiple doses. 1000mg Tylenol can do wonders for headache. As others have said, can do this 3-4x in a day for 1 day — *IF* not also taking other things that hit the liver (alcohol, some seizures meds, ask your doc etc)

How much ibuprofen and acetaminophen can one ACTUALLY take a day if the headache is super bad and you don’t have the strength to go to the doctor? (And they won’t do tele-heath)

@ericdeinmd @RheumNow Both good points — we all know that no BC is 100%. Add to that difficulty of perfect adherence (especially for our peds/teenage rheum population) and I think we should all feel the urgency of continuing to develop lower-risk alternatives!

High risk medications for pregnancy: MTX- 40% pregnancy loss, 6-10% birth defects MMF/CYC - 40% pregnancy loss, 25% birth defects Recommend 2 forms contraception on MMF Change meds slowly to safe Rx and monitor disease activity at least 3 mos before pregnancy #RNL2024 @RheumNow
