#pokemonchampions after a while testing i found very effective and fun Lopunny mega teams, Araquanid is very underrated pokemon that 1 OHKO charizard y unless they spesifically calc to survive it. Both meta and non-meta options work like a charm! im atm master tier 1900 elo

@ChoctopusYT competitive side and casual side are very friendly and helpful. Sharing resources, giving advice, help is part of competitive area of community. Some people even might make example team if you got spesific mon or mons that you want build team around and find right people to ask.

Going to look at all of these when I get some time. Appreciate how welcoming and helpful the community has been. It’s super refreshing.

@ChoctopusYT there is few youtubers like wolfey, skraw vgc ( example video: youtu.be/ZXcUSuU_-Zk?si… ) etc, then there is ofcouse pokemondb, champions has built in battle data, differend discord servers dedicated to battling competitively/building teams, some more casual but helpful still

What are some of the best beginner resources for Pokémon?

@ChoctopusYT @Shonji_Hatake what they do better than other similar mons etc When making team, slots are considered as resources. So when selecting mon for the slot, it needs to have justifiable usage Not to say it needs to be meta breaking but it needs to add value, otherwise it can disrupt team flow

@JacrepidVGC @DinomiteVGC For me it depends but there is plenty steel types that deals with floette, araquanid wide guard blocks d gleam, liquidation with mystic water takes out charizard and hits floette hard aswell. Its all about experimenting and if you got sv or ZA you can build mons there.

@Smogolem Trick room.golurk teams are fire. If you got instruct oranguru it can replace feraligatr as instruct is strong with mega golurk. Its fun team atleast.

I found the greatest Golurk Set. Undefeated. Matches well into sun, rain, sand an other trickroom options pokepaste in the comments

@JacrepidVGC @DinomiteVGC You could fiddle with my one of teams thats fire. A lot teams need spesific synergy and fiddling diff megas and mons makes exploring more fun.

@saiya_ran also people can still build their OWN teams with data they do research on, sure there might be 1-2 must meta mons have in team but you have 6 slot so you can use already 3 of those to add your own twist either meta mons with spesific move sets or your own favourites if they fit.

@saiya_ran Well if someone wants to do without data, knowing meta and going in blind they're free to do so. Just calling something cheating when doing your RESEARCH what is meta, what are best mons and planning your own team that way just shows they dont understand how competitive works

@GiottasfromL I do think having OTS ladder would make game more healthier BUT i think it should be separate ladder (Bo3 ladder) and have like online tournaments Bo3 OTS, it helps people also prepare much easier for tournaments in limitless and locals

@pixeymew personally game is still worth it even with its bugs tho most of them got fixed and pokemon home limbo one also got fixed i think. Its good for players who want come into competitive battles

i know it’s free. i just meant worth spending my time on while i’m also playing pokopia and tomodachi life when it comes out 🥲
