Boston being +150 to win the east while the Knicks sit at +600 is a crazy mispricing. There doesn’t seem to be much hard evidence for Boston being the better team but the groupthink has their odds soaring. Negative Knicks media press is affecting those odds the other way.

@BasedJace__ It’s a data point. And a major one. Theres overlap and if anything last years Celtics were better in just about every way. This Celtics team plays similarly to last years, just with lesser talent filling the roles. If a worse knicks team beat a better Celtics team… do the math

@balldontstop They were beat last year with a far superior, playoff tested group of vets. Now they are relying on unproven role players and Tatum a couple months off an Achilles return. We are witnessing in real time the power group think has to dull critical thinking. They’re nothing special

I have no idea what has to happen for them to realize Hart shouldn’t be starting. It’s obvious to everyone but them. They have an entire analytics team dedicated to this sort of thing but apparently still can’t figure it out.

To all the Knicks fans that have turned on Brunson…stay on that side. All the narratives, the doubt, the outright hate. It’s the same stuff he’s overcome his entire career. When he leads this team to a championship, you will be another on the list of those he proved wrong.

@ShamsCharania Two of the worst we’ve ever seen. Hard to do worse than what they did for their franchise. The had to remain perfectly mediocre every year and they managed to do so.

@mcuban @Ballislife Horrible idea. Teams would just play starters the same amount as they currently do, and you’d be eliminating the value of bench players.

Make the games 40 minutes. 8 x 82 / 48 =13.667 That’s the equivalent number of games you would reduce the schedule by. Without breaking arena leases. Works for college. Works for international. Works for the WNBA. AND. If you looking at tv and streaming ratings, the less the actual playing time for a televised game, the bigger the ratings. Ie, the less time fans have to focus on a game, the more they enjoy watching it on tv
Bill Simmons@BillSimmons

0 for 3! Also — notice how none of the ideas involve shortening the season which is partly how we fell into this tanking sinkhole in the first place. They come up with 3 “solutions” and none of the 3 are “what would 72 games look like?” This league is so frustrating

@JoshEberley Brunson plays with 4 bench players for half of the 1st and 3rd quarter so that brown can re insert KAT + 2-3 other starters for the non Brunson minutes. This is why you have to have some level of intellect when dissecting data or you just come away with erroneous conclusions

@PolymarketHoops @hoopshype Just an incredibly stupid narrative that small guards decline earlier. Small guards that rely on athleticism decline early because their athleticism was the only reason they made it to the league. Small guards that rely on skill and IQ age like fine wine.

Jalen Brunson will be eligible to sign a 4-yr, $323M extension in 2028 or a 5-yr, $418M deal in 2029, when he’ll be 32 with New York. An age where most undersized point guards begin to decline… he sacrificed $113 million in his last deal in 2024. 😬 (via @hoopshype)

@RyanQualtrics Yeah I’m so sure that sitting Markannen and JJJ the entire 4th quarter against the magic was totally organic in an effort to win. Keep it up. Fine will be bigger next time.

@EvDoWork @MGRADS @rickyboii21 He has no idea what he’s talking about he’s making shit up bc he doesn’t like how Leon and co have run the Knicks. He wants the Knicks to get Giannis so it ends the nepotism but doesn’t understand his own logic dictates they wouldn’t undermine themselves by trading for Giannis.

The longer Harden’s career goes on the more I’ve realized this guy only really cares about making money and he doesn’t mind if he has to burn a good thing down to get it. This is about an extension. Same thing he’s done the previous two trade requests. This will be his legacy
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The Los Angeles Clippers and 11-time All-Star James Harden are working through whether the sides can find a deal by Thursday's NBA trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. Both sides are aligned in conversations together and with interested teams.

@Three_Cone Incredible how you give a smart franchise one gap year and they understand they need to do everything possible to secure a top pick meanwhile teams like the Bulls are irrelevant every year yet still push for mediocrity.

@_the6thman Brunson has broken past every single ceiling that people like yourself placed on him since he arrived If you’re going to try to spin the block after a 10 game stretch in January on what the ceiling of a Brunson led team can be, it’s obvious you never believed. Stay on that side

@_the6thman And you’ve been wrong about almost everything regarding the team since Brunson arrived. So we’ll take your opinion with a grain of salt now that the team is in a bad stretch and you overreact. When the team hits its stride, you will go back to pretending you knew all along.

I'm not trading Jalen Brunson. I'm also not ever building a team around him, again. This is the collection of talent he took less for. He can play off-ball and be an elite scorer. That's it. ENOUGH OF THE SUGARCOATING. He's terrible on defense and the effort it takes to make up for that is not worth the squeeze. SINGULARLY FOCUSED. it's easy to axe thibs, lets see if leon actually cares about getting to work.
