Random thoughts while I’m on my flight: Every offline 2x event I went to last few months I’ve been really down on my play. Kept being extra nervous and would drop random shit. Very few drops this time despite being on ps5 and in COTW honestly I played so well, wish I could play that well online lol. I guess it’s a good problem to have. Less nervous and more locked. I think it comes down to a few things. 1) When I’m having fun I just play much better. Need to find more ways to make sure this happens. Probably doing more stuff at majors and not hyper fixating on playing… and making sure I train hard before the event so I have stuff to show off. Learning new teams helped with this but I think making sure you do the boring work in life / practice helps a lot more to this point. 2) Nutrition, I think there is something to cutting out sugar before a tourney, a lot of top chess players do and I just happened not to eat much sugar leading up to the event. When I eat chocolate during day 1 of event I felt like I was extra energized and probably part of the reason I played well that day. Also taking creatine at home and not taking it at events was hurting I think (I brought it this time) Idk if just coincidence but I will explore this more. I’ll talk about my actual matches on stream but honestly not much to say other than if I just had more reps with my new characters I think I would have cooked. Just wish more of my matches were recorded, wasn’t on stream once for cotw despite being omega stacked and beating good players ahhhh. The adjustments I made in January, focusing more on optimizing my workflow opposed to just making sure I pour more hours into playing seems to be promising. I still have so much to improve on this front, really want to continue to nail this down. Doomscrolling still gets me sometimes lmao, need to be more focused the next few months to make sure I can hit my goals I’m still not 100% sure where I want to focus my time. Do I focus on 2x? Or COTW? Or go back to SF? Or juggle all 2/3? How much priority do I want to give to content? I need to nail this down soon before EWC season A few things I did figure out this trip, in 2x I really do want a team to commit to and I can just lock in on and hyper optimize even if it’s not the best. With the game being patched so often, I feel like it can be hard to skip to a new team every 5 weeks or however often they are patching things. Learning Caitlyn was fun for this tourney, but I think it’s just too hard to learn a character in a week for 2x, the characters are too complex for that compared to something like cotw. So if I have a few characters I get good at and play the best combo of that patch it might work and be a good compromise. But I have so many teams I want to look into. Vi /illaoi Ekko / illaoi Yas / Braum Vi / Braum Vi / jinx Probably more, but I’ll start with these and decide on one for February. Vi / Illaoi #1 candidate, I get to be a special snowflake and I think it’s better than ever and I got tons of new ideas for the team. In cotw I have this in Ronaldo and I can still play top tier for his bad matchups, which I think I will do. Maybe Rock? We will see Also extra motivated for content lately. I find myself wanting to spend more time on content than ever, not sure if that’s a good or bad thing lol. I think I will minimize travel next couple months and just focus on improving both content and gameplay. I really enjoyed frosties though, I burned out a few years ago on tournies and stopped going but I think it’s mostly a mentality thing, if you don’t set yourself up for success you not gonna enjoy. Also the spiked water stuff is omega fucked, hope they got cameras and can catch whoever did that or it was just some placebo shit, but it’s mad worrying, really hope they investigate. Anyways hit character limit lots to talk about I guess will do that on stream tomorrow, thanks for reading 🙏

Home safely from SWC! I know I could have placed better, so I spent the last couple days contemplating what I need to do to take my game to the next level. I thought I could just scale up the number of hours I play in a week and keep my same system to improve but I think this has diminishing returns. I'm restructuring my approach so I can get the most out of the hours I play, which means living a more disciplined lifestyle to make sure I can play at a higher peak level. I think my biggest areas of improvement are out of game rather than in game at the moment. Unsure if I will pursue COTW EWC/SWC next year, will spend some time reflecting before I commit. I'm super motivated to compete / be the best but I'm unsure in which game(s) I want to do this in. Ideally I get to the point where I can be so fundamentally strong that I can balance all of these games at the highest level and I don't have to make these sacrifices to only train one game. Also need to say thanks to @Weibogamingwin, without their support I wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as I did this season. Just wish I could have produced a better result. This was my first time seriously competing in a circuit style tourney series and the experience was too valuable, I'll be back stronger 🙏

I’m out of SWC, lost twice to Hotaru. Thought I played well but lack of prep time / character choice def held me back. If I’m going to keep playing COTW, I need to find a way to level up more effectively, it is very tough to get high level practice due to lack of players near me, and I encountered too many new strategies this weekend that I had to figure out how to beat on the fly 3 of my 4 losses this weekend were in final game final round last hit scenarios.. that has to be really unlucky too Also never traveling again to play a mid tier again. I need to get over this mindset where I feel like I need to play a unique character. I played a long set against ZJZ to prep against Tamago today, asked him for advice and all he said was Ronaldo has too many weaknesses 😭 Anyways a little salty but going to enjoy the rest of the weekend, play some 2x and watch finals. At least we made some decent money. Will come back stronger
