Chelsea can sign Konate if they want, despite his high wages demand. Free agents demand moderate sign-on fees and high wages. If he wants £300k and a £10m sign-on fee, we can negotiate to pay half of the wages, which is £150k, with the sign-on fee and in installments. That's £10m + £150k × 52 weeks × 5 or 6 years (duration of his contract). That way, his wages will be low on the books but still as high as he wants. The problem is, most players want that sign-on fee in one upfront payment. But it's not impossible to negotiate if you add a few extra millions. The amortisation, it won't be easy to convince him to spread it over 5 years. He will push for 1 or 2. Bottomline is that it's doable but won't be easy. The total package of any deal for Konate including agent fee won't be cheap, it could be close to £80m or more.

Rafael Leao is 26 years old, he has all the experienced we need. In a 1V1 is a monster, he is strong and a good can get you goals. €45M for him is a steal. I understand is he not serious sometimes but that's why a discipline manager is needed to run. Cherki has attitude problem and unserious but look at him in Man City. Again, Chelsea should sign Rafael Leao. He is the best fit for him
