i was wondering what slayhem was called in the japanese version and it turns out it's "kyoki" written in katakana which sounds like "狂気" meaning insanity and "凶器" meaning weapon so it has a double meaning which was adapted into a pun in the english version so that's neat

@BlaccBody @joshuaskyevan I don't think my criticism has been unfair or whiny. The changes for the cutscene are quite literally a mood shift. There are some things in Reload that *are* better. But why are we always the ones expected to be "fair" I mean you guys never say anything nice about the OG.

I get annoyed when people claim that Atlus didnt even try with P3 Reload and that P4 Revival is getting the better treatment as if it was a malicious decision. Like the concept of improving with experience & implementing feedback still applies to big developers yall

tbh the only reason Yukari didn’t outright ask Mitsuru until the beach trip is because she already had suspicions and didn’t trust her or the Kirijo Group.
I’m not even at that part in FES and Reload did a good job at relaying this shit idk how y’all treat Reload like it told the story wrong or something.

@joshuaskyevan @BlaccBody Have some media literacy classes my guy. Yukari didn't know the truth about the Dark Hour. As far as Mitsuru told her it was just a natural occurence. There is no reason why Mitsuru couldn't have told Yukari when she joined. It is not Yukari's fault in the least.

@EzzedUp @BlaccBody Because first off she blames mitsuru instead of her father or even grandfather and she could’ve asked at anytime about what happened with mitsuru who would probably tell her. That could’ve been avoided if she just talked to mitsuru.

Really? THAT scene is what hit people in the gut? I mean I’m sure it gave you that feeling but dude it’s like barely minute long scene??? Everything that happens on the island is generally still the same, the conflict is still there. We just get a more optimistic animated scene before it now?

@BlaccBody @SuperButterBuns The issue is that the scene no longer provokes that gut visceral reaction of the OG. I've seen players get to that scene in the OG and it's like they were hit with a brick to the face. All the excitement of going on a trip is undercut and that IS the point.

What does changing it ruin? Sometimes change doesn’t need an explicit reason behind it, it didn’t really hurt anything in the long run. The story is still stellar, I still cried at the end, it still touched me the way it was supposed to touch me.
So…what’s really the issue here?

@BlaccBody @SuperButterBuns For Yukari and Mitsuru's friction specifically there really isn't any linked episodes that go into it more. That's why that cutscene is supposed to be the peak of it. If you wanna say "it's a different interpretation" then fine but.......why? What does changing it add?

The crazy part is, the tension is STILL there if you do the linked episodes. It’s just done differently than it was in FES, and that’s what FES fans have an issue with. That’s why myself and even Buns bring up that you guys treat the changes as if they were done to spite you original fans.
Like nah dude it’s just something different, dislike it all you want but it doesn’t really break anything for anyone outside of y’all.

@BlaccBody @SuperButterBuns I am not. And I would never say that. I don't think it's malicious, I DO think it is driven by a "let's be super safe" type of mentality. Basically it's to not scare off people who started with P5 or P4 who might not like the "good guys" having so much tension.

@Sloth3900 @SuperButterBuns I agree. I also like Yukari's friction with Mitsuru and I do like some things about Reload. The study sessions for example are a nice little addition BUT the fact that literally 2 days after Yukari confronts her they have a study session like everything's fine is so bad tonally.

@EzzedUp @SuperButterBuns The Team Friction hit so different in Persona 3, Having Junpei serve as a Rival instead of a Loyal Follower like Ryuji was really did a lot to make Junpei a character with depth.

One of my biggest complaints about Persona 3 Reload that neither side ever mentions is just how lazy a lot of the overworld animations are. Some are just outright missing, Junpei's attack is just an undercooked one but there are a lot in which the screen just cuts to black.

@rubynesoberi Because even though it was modernized they didn't make it look exactly like XB2. THAT would've been a problem. They at least kept it's art style more faithful. I don't like how Shulk and Fiora look in XB2 for example. They didn't pull a P3 Reload and made it look exactly like P5.

@ArtoriasBenoit It's insane to me that Persona 3 is now the brightest looking game out of the 3 New-sona. Like seriously there is no world in which P3 should look brighter than P4 but they fucking did it. Also the characters have no expressions or animations in Reload in comparison to 4 and 5.
