@FACEE444

It is the soldier’s life to have their balmy slumbers waked with strife.

Progressives should absolutely appear on Tucker Carlson or Joe Rogan. If you can't hold your own with someone with whom you disagree on important matters you should be Bsky or something.

⭕️ Graham Platner, the progressive Maine Democrat running for Senate, says he doesn’t yet have an answer on whether he will appear on Tucker Carlson’s show after Carlson expressed interest in a meeting in an interview with the New York Times. “It’s hard to tell if [his shift] is

@sunraysunray “Middle class art student transplant” is not working class. What’s the point of going on about the PMC if you can’t call it out when it presents itself?

@JCColtin Yes she is. She's just not a part of the Republican rebrand of working class to just mean "blue collar", something that anyone who isn't a Republican should be way more suspicious about

Valdez talks a lot about working low wage fast food jobs growing up, and that’s true and fair, but she’s not from the “working class” as the phrase is commonly understood. Father is a civil engineer at a an architectural firm, mother is a medical technologist.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Congress needs more voices from America's working class. @claireforny has the experience and vision we need to take on the oligarchy and fight for unions, Medicare for All, and affordable housing. I’m proud to endorse her campaign for Congress.

A “liberal and democratic” social media sounds like the nanny state. No thanks! People (the majority of users, not journalists and politicians) come here to be irrational, not rational. You can’t force rationality on an irrational society. That’s just technocracy!
Ro Khanna@RoKhanna

This essay undervalues our agency. Let me explain. After the printing press, pamphlets with shock value spread rumors, dehumanized opponents, and caused years of war. After Europe faced devastation, Enlightenment thinkers and practitioners developed newspapers and journalism, and they institutionalized the value of political tolerance for political dialogue. This helped make the printing press a tool for deliberation as opposed to an obstacle to it. In our social media age, the problem is not the technology itself but the absence of liberal democratic values in the design of platforms. That trolling and sensationalism drown out reasonable exchange suggests a failure of imagination and ethics in how to build communication spheres in a digital age. There is nothing inevitable or predestined about the end of rational discourse. What matters is whether we can build digital forums that are not only more inclusive than traditional ones, but value understanding and dialogue over attention-grabbing clickbait. This is not the first time humanity has had such a challenge, and history will judge us for how well we met it in our time. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/05/…
