The drill is in context to a belly to belly fight used by the military and LEO's. Do you only shoot on a static range at a paper target inside of 25 yards? Or do you get on your belly and engage a target from under a car at 50 yards? Have you conducted point contact shooting? Weak hand? Load, fire, clear stoppages? How about with only one handed? There are dozens of drills one can train to be a better shooter. This is just one of many. As he says, "Just another tool for your toolbox".

It might seem unnecessary, to those that have never served in the military…But the reason why your drill sergeants / instructors put you through so much shit is that you’re coming in as a civilian, and they are trying to make you into a soldier, marine, etc., and the only way you can get there is through teamwork, discipline, and sacrifice. If you ever get in combat, if you find yourself having to walk up miles of mountains in Afghanistan or braving ungodly heat in the deserts of Iraq, the discipline and dedication you learn is gonna help you get through those times.
