We commend the federal government for committing to an additional four years to work towards results aligned to the objectives of the UNDPAD. This is part of our collective legacy work. (6)

As we're in the final year of the UNDPAD, it's important that our leaders demonstrate the level of ambition required to work w/ Black employees to put in place the institutional changes necessary to improve career & wellness outcomes for all Black public servants. (5)

We look forward to the critical next steps: a process of reconciliation w/ the Black employees who, in 2022, were part of the original co-design of this plan. To rebuild the trust & confidence required to ensure a smooth development & implementation of these & future initiatives.

FBEC is pleased to see this development as a 1st step in addressing the wellness & career stagnation faced by Black employees due to systemic anti-black racism in federal workplaces. (3)

The initiatives being launched include: Black-centric enhancements to the Employee Assistance Program, an executive leadership program for Black executives, and individualized assessment, counselling and coaching services to Black public servants. (2)
