FRIENDS OF BRIERDENE
Volunteers & friends have been working hard. Wildflower & grass areas have been completely cut back. Cuttings have been removed to car park. They will be loading council skips with grass cuttings for recycling. #whitleybay @FBrierdene

Spent the morning at the Brierdene BioBlitz with the award-winning @FBrierdene volunteers and representatives from @ERICNorthEast. As well as all kinds of bugs, minnows and spiders, we came across a Semophore Fly which I understand is a new recording 🎉

We're delighted the Ukrainian Community in North Tyneside have planted a special tree today in the Brierdene as a token of gratitude for the kindness and hospitality they have received in the area. The tree is a Viburnum Opulus - Guelder Rose which is the national tree of Ukraine
