One key stat from every MLB team to know for fantasy baseball purposes @YahooFantasy. Because this piece was over 5,000 words, it was broken up into two for the American and National League ⤵️ sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/articl…

It's no secret that the fantasy baseball draft market likes these starting pitchers. However, they have been draft targets because of their underlying metrics and previous success. See my upside cases for these starting pitchers @RotoBallerMLB⤵️ rotoballer.com/fantasy-baseba…

It's interesting looking at the Detroit RB numbers for the last two seasons. I say 'interesting' because David Montgomery was somewhat useless for fantasy for all but the deepest leagues and the narrative was that Jahmyr Gibbs had finally taken over the backfield. That was true to an extent, but things last year were more similar to 2024 than I would've guessed. Carries: 2025 David Montgomery - 158 Jahmyr Gibbs - 243 2024 DM - 185 JG - 250 Targets/Receptions: 2025 DM - 29/24 JG - 94/77 2024 DM - 38/36 JG - 63/52 Snaps: 2025 DM - 408 JG - 737 2024 DM - 407 JG - 691 The biggest difference was Gibbs' reception total jumping by 25 catches (obviously this is big for PPR purposes). But otherwise, Gibbs played an average of just over 2 snaps more than the previous year and actually carried the ball 7 fewer times. I'm not sure we should be automatically handing Gibbs 50 extra touches just because Montgomery left. They'll bring someone else in for the complementary role and I'd expect Gibbs to be around 325 touches again in 2026.

After seeing what Jarett Stidham did in the playoffs, it's being reported those reaching out for his services include: - McDonald's - Larry’s Dry Cleaning - Blockbuster Video - The New York Jets
Dianna Russini@DMRussini

As the QB market plays out, trade targets remain in play for several teams. I’m told teams have reached out to the Broncos about backup Jarrett Stidham, whose lone start of the season came in the AFC Championship Game against the Patriots.

In DUI cases there is a myth that persists that says the BAC level of .08 is a bright line that says a person is intoxicated or not. That's not true. The law has a 'per se' violation for being over the legal limit, but there is a reason that DUI law has a section that is not based on a chemical test. Usually someone is charged with the per se, as well as the other section, so the State can still attempt to get a conviction if the test is either low or invalidated somehow. I tell my clients that you can think of it like dividing up the evidence in three chunks - Chemical test, Standardized Field Sobriety tests, and everything else. If there is no test or even a low test the State can still go forward, but you've essentially knocked out one of their avenues to convince the trier of fact that you're intoxicated. It's helpful to have no or a low test, but not dispositive. "Well how can they convict you if you are under the limit? You're not breaking the law." True. And that's most often how low tests turn out - the case is dismissed or drastically reduced. But there are a small subset of cases where there is another reason the person appears intoxicated (usually another substance compounded with the alcohol - i.e. smoking weed while drinking means a .07 test is different than with only alcohol; another common one is prescription medication). On top of that, don't forget that every case is unique as people handle alcohol differently. Someone who doesn't drink may not handle small levels of alcohol the same as a heavy drinker. I've seen clients with huge tests handle SFSTs well because they handle alcohol from years of practice. Every case is different, and circumstantial evidence fills in the holes of borderline cases. One last thing to mention: There is a bell curve to a person's BAC. When they start drinking it lags behind the actual drinks consumed, for obvious reasons (metabolizing the alcohol takes time). So someone's BAC rises as they drink, and then it *continues to rise* even after the consumption has stopped. Hitting the peak of that bell curve is a combination of factors (time, number of drinks etc.), but it's an interesting inflection point vis a vis BAC at the time an offense is alleged to have occurred.
