Our mission in Fulton County Career and Technical Education is to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning.

Recently, engineering students from North Springs High School demonstrated their creativity and technical skills at the final showcase of Blueprints to Build: The Path from Concept to Construction, a Saturday workshop series hosted by the Bill Harrison Foundation. The six-month-long program offered students an immersive journey through residential architecture, construction, and interior design. Held at the prestigious Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine Designer Showhouse, the culminating event featured student-designed architectural models, the result of months of hands-on exploration and collaboration. These presentations reflected not only a deep understanding of architectural concepts but also an impressive ability to bring design ideas to life. As the engineering teacher at North Springs High School, Dr. Sharmila Durai had the privilege of volunteering throughout the entire series. She explained, "Watching my students evolve over these months - embracing new challenges, collaborating with peers, and engaging directly with industry experts - was incredibly rewarding." The partnership between North Springs High School and the Bill Harrison Foundation stands as a powerful example of the value of experiential learning. Opportunities like this enable students to gain real-world insight and inspiration beyond the classroom. North Springs is grateful to the Bill Harrison Foundation for their ongoing support and for investing in the future of young designers and engineers. We appreciate their commitment to nurturing talent and opening doors for our students. #NorthSpringsHighSchool #FindYourselfHere @FCS_NSHS_Princ @alexbatesedu @Fultoncoschools
