@cbctom All of my disposable income that I used to have is now going to my mortgage, car/gas tank and groceries. These ticket prices should be illegal

A month before Canada opens the World Cup, I got an email from MLSE as a TFC season ticket holder. I could buy a ticket to the opener vs Bosnia at BMO Field - the price range is $1150 to $2955. The most significant match in Canadian soccer history is not sold out. Wonder why.

The idea that wrestling was never popular or mainstream before 1984 in the U.S. is perhaps the biggest historical lie that there is. Yet, so many not just believe it, but get so mad when you point out facts and names that show how silly it is.
MissyHyatt@RealMissyHyatt

Never took a bump is not an issue. I know plenty of journalists that i respect that never took a bump. I get it that he's a wwe shill. 1987 was not the 1st biggest year in wrestling. Years earlier, there were more promotion, more wrestlers employed, & more shows. Many of those groups ran weekly.

People across Ontario are feeling the impact of global uncertainty and President Trump’s tariffs on their household budgets. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to cut taxes, lower fees and make life more affordable for Ontario families.

What is your point? Come back with some facts. I'm well aware of that show, covered it when it happened and wrote about it a dozen times or more since.
Chris Fortier@cfortsgottalock

@davemeltzerWON More nonsense. Aug 86 in Toronto they ran "The Big Event". Sold it locally as "Wrestling Hulkamania" & packed it. 60K plus. Does your revisionist archive have a gate bigger than that sold as "Austin 3:16 Fest"?

Austin did movies too. Far better actor than Hogan. Austin wasn't a Saturday morning cartoon character and maybe that's why his merch sales were so much bigger. There is no arguing this. Austin was the bigger peak draw and merch seller and Hogan had more longevity.
Dante@ItsDante718

Austin ran into a wall outside wrestling. Hogan knocked the wall down. Austin had catchphrases. Hogan had a Saturday morning cartoon. Hogan's career covers Hollywood, Saturday morning cartoons, and the cover of every magazine that mattered. There's no comparison.

Growing up in Western New York we have Canadian radio stations. Bands like The Headstones, Tea Party, Moist, Our Lady Peace, The Hip were on our radios daily. I’m glad I grew up hearing these bands. Here’s The Tragically Hip in 1990 playing New Orleans Is Sinking

Hogan is nothing like Austin. Bruno is far closer to Austin.

@ReverendSpeck @davemeltzerWON there’s nothing factually wrong? Cena is factually more famous than hogan and Austin Austin is more successful especially if you add his merch Hogan is the babyface Prototype for every face of the company after him( Austin and Cena included)
