Democrats have spent twenty years arguing that requiring ID to vote is racist, oppressive, and targets minorities who supposedly can't obtain one. Katie Britt just took that argument apart on the Senate floor — piece by piece. You can't rent a home without an ID. You can't go to work without an ID. You can't shovel snow in New York City without an ID. And — here's the one that landed — 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘖𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘧'𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵. The same party that required vaccine passports to go out to eat. The same party that demands ID to enter their own rallies. The same party that says requiring ID to achieve the American dream — to get insurance, buy a car, sign a kid up for school — is just a fact of modern life. But require it to vote? Suddenly it's an insurmountable barrier for entire segments of the population. Britt called that argument what it is: 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦. Because embedded in it is the condescending assumption that certain Americans — based on their background or zip code — are uniquely incapable of obtaining a document that every other functioning adult in this country carries. That's not concern for minorities. That's soft bigotry dressed up as advocacy. Alabama already does this. And if someone genuinely can't get to the ID office, Alabama goes to them. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂. The barrier Democrats claim is insurmountable has already been solved — by the state they love to mock. The SAVE America Act requires voter ID nationwide. It polls wildly popular across Republicans, independents, and Democrats. When something polls that way, Senator Britt says the same thing most Americans are thinking: 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘵. I think they believe it would just be a little gotcha moment toward Trump & that they’ll ride off happily into the sunset cheating, lying, committing more fraud & prioritizing their new illegal immigrant base over their own citizens. Do they not realize the ppl have now seen behind the curtain & that can’t be undone? It will create a monster that they can’t defeat.
