Sterling Fire Department is currently operating at a building fire on Laurelwood Road.

🚨 The Sterling Fire Department and multiple other agencies are currently operating at the scene of an active incident off of Chocksett Road. Please avoid the area. There is no safety threat to the public. We will release more information when we are able to. 🚨

On this Patriots’ Day afternoon, Sterling Fire Ladder 1 responded mutual aid to assist the Clinton Fire Department in extinguishing a 2nd alarm structure fire.

This morning the Sterling, Massachusetts Fire Department is keeping our brothers and sisters of the Sterling, Virginia Fire Department in our prayers as a catastrophic home explosion has claimed the life of one firefighter, and injured 10 firefighters.

Sterling Engine 4 is providing station coverage to the City of Leominster while they operate at a working building fire.

At 3:37 this afternoon, Sterling Engine 5, @MassStatePolice and Sterling Police Department responded to I-190 for a fully engulfed vehicle fire. Engine 5 extinguished the fire, and thankfully all occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle.

BE ADVISED: Crowley Road is closed to all traffic due to flooding in the area. First responders are preparing for additional flooding and will keep you all updated throughout the day.

This morning Sterling Engine 5, Ambulance 2, and 28C responded to 190 northbound for a 3 car motor vehicle accident. One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. #SFD

This morning Sterling Ladder 1 responded mutual aid to the town of West Boylston for smoke coming from the building. #SFD

At 0135 this morning the SFD was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at 46 Maple Street. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire showing from the garage located under the home, and a 2nd alarm was struck. Please see our Facebook for full press release.

This afternoon Sterling Engine 4 responded mutual aid to assist the West Boylston Fire Department with a natural gas leak on Worcester Road. #SFD

This morning the Sterling Fire Department and the Sterling Police Department had the honor of witnessing the VAU Fallen Heros Memorial be escorted through town. This weekend, it will be displayed in Leominster at the Johnny Ro Veterans Memorial Park. #SFD

The brush fire on Metropolitan Road held the containment line over night. Units from Sterling and multiple surrounding fire departments deployed this morning and are currently operating with over 45 firefighters to complete extinguishment. #SFD

The brush fire on Metropolitan Road has been contained to 36 acres. Sterling Fire Department was assisted by 14 mutual aid communities and DCR forestry assets from fire district 6. Crews will be retuning to the scene in the morning to complete wetting down the area. #SFD
