Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, @DmJomo, addressed the 100th Anniversary of the National Union of Leather and Allied Workers (@NulawZA), emphasizing the importance of safeguarding hard-won achievements. He stressed that workers’ rights must be defended, and shop stewards must actively protect these rights. The Deputy Minister highlighted the need for engagement with the sector, ensuring workers go to work and return home safely, and promoting dignity and happiness in the workplace. Shop stewards are called to foster unity, create positive environments, and avoid divisiveness.

FEDUSA President Godfrey Selematsela delivered a keynote address at the 100th Anniversary of the National Union of Leather and Allied Workers (@NulawZA ) on 16 March 2026. The centenary celebration marks 100 years of courage, struggle, and solidarity in advancing the dignity and rights of workers in the leather and allied industries. In his address, President Selematsela honoured the generations of workers, shop stewards, and union leaders who built NULAW into a lasting pillar of the labour movement, while calling for renewed unity to defend decent work and strengthen South Africa’s manufacturing industries.

Congratulations NULAW on reaching this milestone of 100 years. Forward with the Working Class Struggle forward.
