@RyanOttley The invincible War is one of the best single issues of all time. So much happening and a great reprieve from all the decompressed 6 issue arcs where barely anything happens in other books. This is one of many reasons why the book & show have captured such a large audience.

Not a team decision. Robert is the writer, and I am the artist. His story direction choices were something I was all for! Before we did this issue he called me and told me he wanted to do the opposite of what Marvel and DC does, which is large drawn out events that affect the whole universe and really tries to make all their readers buy every issue and milk it the best they can. And then they do another event and so on, rinse and repeat. Robert instead wanted to do a big image superhero event book all in one issue! Which of course, I loved the idea. His ideas and how he executes them are one of the main reasons why I stayed on this book. He has this ability to choose very fresh takes on story tropes and ideas and flip them on their head. Yes the issue has lots of potential to be a much larger event. But that defeats the point he was going for.

Just wanted to jump on here and say thank you for the follow and the interest in my work. I was a broken quiet kid growing up, who just wanted to be left alone and draw, and I read and fell in love with comics due to the mix of story and art, it was pure escapism from the world that troubled me. Comics helped me mentally in a big way. Invincible is my most important work, and it still blows my mind the appreciation we got during the comics and now the show. Makes me happy to see the fandom grow as much as it has. Now I get countless people saying to me the same things I said above. Comics really can be a helpful obsession. Warms my heart. Thank you all.
