At 3:00 AM on January 10th, 2026, Pittman drove to Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, the largest and most historic synagogue in the state. He smashed his way in with an axe. He poured gasoline across the lobby and set it ablaze. Torah scrolls were incinerated. Pittman called the shul the “synagogue of Satan" and bragged about torching it to his Father, who turned him in to the FBI. Pittman was arrested and charged in federal court for maliciously destroying a religious institution by fire. He’s facing up to 20 years in prison. And he deserves every single one.
