Now we just need to smartly improve 2 or 3 positions, and next season should be way better.

Honestly, probably the best outcome we could have hoped for. Isted and Moore-Taylor have a chance to stay at the club; Knowles and McAllister are still here for now, which means we are keeping the core of the team together. Really good base to build upon in the summer.

Now that it's over. I'm willing to share my thoughts on tonight's game: Harry Isted simply has to be a Forest Green Rovers player next season. He has been the signing of the season, by some distance too. If not for him, the first half could have been an ugly score, and truthfully it they could have scored 3/4. D'Mani Mellor was our best outfield player, an absolute workhorse, and some of his hold up play is up there with the best we've seen at Rovers, despite his lean build. Knowles absolutely outstanding again, starting to think he's not human with his engine, similarly to Isted, surely has to be a Forest Green Rovers player come July 1st. Macca, Mendy, Jili all worked so hard and just had nothing left to give at the end. Mingi and Tre both started really shakily, but their second half performances were a standout, Abdulmalik never really had an opportunity, until the brief lapse of concentration by Tre for the goal after having played 105 minutes. I had my doubts about Tate, and other than some early misplaced headers, he drove the side forward, controlling the midfield for large parts of the game, alongside Jayden Clarke. Clarke tonight proved he can play absolutely anywhere and he'd be one of the first names on my team sheet for next season, I also expect his running stats to be the highest in the side, as he worked so hard getting forward, and then tracking Zak Brunt for the majority of the game. And Sean Etaluku looks a serious talent, I cannot wait to see what he's got in store for next season, hopefully with a fully fit season to come. Personally I felt the game would have suited Nick Haughton, especially in the second half when Boreham Wood started to tire, naturally fell deeper, having Haughton's quality could have unpicked the defence. But I have no qualms about Rovers losing tonight, they simply ran out of gas trying their absolute hardest, against a very good Boreham Wood team, who didn't weaken with subs as was suggested pre-game. Luke has a very well drilled side there, and everyone knows their roles exceptionally well, but I'm not sure how much they'll have left in the tank for Sunday. Rovers will be back stronger next season with a core squad to build around, and hopefully they'll be able to go one further. It's been an absolute pleasure covering @FGRFC_Official for @GlosLiveOnline this season, and I look forward to the next chapter. @talkSPORT I dare to say it should be 4 up/4 down. Its 4 up/down between L2 and L1. So why not between L1 and NL too. Both leagues have 24 teams, so they're both huge leagues.
