Officially headed to the DMV! I am incredibly humbled, honored, and overwhelmed with joy to share that I have been appointed as the next Principal of Herndon Middle School in Fairfax County Public Schools. After three impactful years in Houston ISD leading transformational work, this next chapter is both exciting and deeply meaningful. Houston has helped shape me tremendously as a leader, and I am grateful for everyone who has been a part of the journey. I am excited to join the Herndon community and connect with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders to continue building a culture of excellence, belonging, and opportunity for all. The work continues, and I am ready to serve. From Mississippi, to Texas, and now to the DMV, God’s plan continues to unfold, and I am beyond grateful for the journey. Soaring Hawks 💫

📖 ‼️ 📣 BOOK UPDATE (feel free to repost): My fabulous book launch team and I will be revealing the TITLE of my forthcoming book this week! For now, the very few people that have read my book or who I’ve spoken to in depth about my book have said that my book is: “great and necessary” “the first book on the topic” “the definitive text that people reference” and that “there are lots of districts and district leaders that can learn from my experiences” that they “would not discount how widespread my book will go” that “it really could be a model that makes this book highly sought-after” that “it’s a well-written, massive project” that I “handled magnificently” It took me a year to write the book. A definite labor of love. After the title reveal, we will have a cover reveal.
