Senior obstetricians from 22 districts gathered in a packed hall in Vijaywada and learnt hands-on techniques in safe, forceps and vacuum deliveries guided by our experts. 💪 The training aims to restoring clinical confidence in AVBs and reduce avoidable C-sections. #AVB

Our goals are: Improve maternal and neonatal outcomes Reduce unnecessary C-sections in low-resource settings Strengthen evidence for safer intrapartum labour practices Train junior doctors to use instrumental delivery when required

Team Fernandez has received the Laerdal grant to study Assisted Vaginal Births as a safely and timely alternative to caesareans when labour isn’t progressing, but a C-section isn’t the best option.
