Year 2 had a great morning doing speed stacking and orienteering. It was lovely to see children from West Wick and Hewish working so well together in teams. @StAnnes_EHS

In our PSHE lesson, we have been exploring how we change as we get older. We talked about the things we could do as a baby, as a toddler and what we can do now. We organised items to make our own timelines of life milestones. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 have been learning to sew this afternoon. We learnt how to thread a needle, tie a knot and do a running stitch. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 loved sharing their baby photos in our PSHE lesson today. We discussed how we have changed since we were babies and thought about how we will continue to change as we get older. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 enjoyed competing their final collages this afternoon. These represent their journey to school and include some of the key landmarks they see on the way. @StAnnes_EHS

An amazing afternoon of Sports Day fun for Year 2, I was so impressed with how everyone tried their best and especially the way they encouraged each other and cheered on their teams. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 enjoyed taking part in a range of healthy activities this afternoon. From yoga and musical colouring to rounders, beanbag golf and dancing, we got to explore new ways of moving our bodies and quieting our minds. #HealthyMeWeek @StAnnes_EHS

This morning’s activities were led by Priory Young Leaders. They were so confident with leading their activities and Year 2 enjoyed cricket, football and working on some fitness skills. Another fantastic day as part of Healthy Me Week @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 enjoyed making and tasting couscous this afternoon as part of Healthy Me Week. We practised our food preparation skills of chopping, slicing, grating and cutting and tried some new flavours. @StAnnes_EHS @DApplefordSACA

Year 2 had a great start to Healthy Me Week. This afternoon, we had a go at golf, frisbee, nerf target shooting and axe throwing. More fun to come tomorrow! @StAnnes_EHS

We have continued to practise our collaging skills in art today and are looking forward to create our final pieces at the end of the week where we will create collages representing our journeys to school. @StAnnes_EHS

In Year 2, we practised our oracy skills this morning by asking each other questions to begin planning our own explorer stories. We used the phrase “tell me more about…” to challenge each other to add more detail. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 went on an explorer hunt this afternoon to learn about some of the early explorers. They had to find the explorer’s pictures then match them to the right clue. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day in their red, white and blue yesterday and decorated bunting to mark the occasion. We talked about what the ending of the war would have meant for people 80 years ago and the importance of remembering. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 are getting ready for Sports Day. Today we practised sprints and worked in our teams to take part in relay races and an obstacle course. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 have enjoyed their first lesson on using a thesaurus in English today. We looked up synonyms for some overused feeling words and everyone was thrilled, elated and overjoyed to find new words to use in their own writing. @StAnnes_EHS

Year 2 enjoyed experiencing an archaeological dig yesterday. They loved digging for treasure and learning the history of the objects they found. @StAnnes_EHS

Lovely to have some very smart looking Brownies and Beavers in their uniforms today for St George’s Day. @StAnnes_EHS

A fun start to the new term working on our jumping and hopping skills in PE. @StAnnes_EHS

As scientists, today we explored the power of air. We made rocket mice and sent them shooting into space using compressed air inside a bottle. We talked about how the weight impacted how high it flew. @StAnnes_EHS
