I understand and respect Tuchel’s vision for this England squad
That being said, in games where we NEED a goal… it’s hard to find a good reason why game changers like Trent and Wharton aren’t available off the bench
He will be judged on our final result

@Flash_37 Foden only does that when he’s made the entire focal point of the City team. Pep phased him out of the regular starting 11, relegating him to starts in rotational games, for a reason

@FIFABrit What ?????? Foden has done it week in week out for City, they only play against low blocks, bottom line is Ghana had no striker meaning they had a 10 v 6 for 90 mins. England just showed teams how to torture them later down the road

Kane is obviously a better scorer and deserves more criticism but O’Reilly is getting off easily

@seeley_nigel I totally agree with you - but that wasn’t Tuchel’s approach to the squad
He opted for fewer “game changers” (no Trent, no Wharton) and opted for attackers that attack, defenders that defend, etc

@FIFABrit Wharton ? This was always a squad that was good if you are winning . Not a squad that you need to look to the bench to change up . But anyway . I am going back to the free bar.

@seeley_nigel Even if that’s true (I think he’s on the bench because he’s the only true natural 6 on the bench), Palmer/Foden weren’t getting picked over Henderson. Totally different positions
