FG Inaugurates National Energy Masterplan Implementation Committee, Sets Bold Course for Clean Energy Future Yesterday in Abuja, I had the honor of officially inaugurating the National Energy Masterplan Implementation Committee (NEMiC)—a major step in our collective effort to reposition Nigeria’s energy sector for the future. The National Energy Masterplan (NEMP) is more than a policy document; it is a comprehensive framework that will guide our country’s transition to clean, reliable, and affordable energy. With this inauguration, we are now moving into full implementation, mobilizing funding, and investing in projects that will transform access to power for households, industries, and communities. NEMiC will oversee renewable and new energy initiatives across solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and other emerging technologies, while also operationalizing the National Energy Fund to scale domestic infrastructure and efficiency projects. I reminded members of the Committee that this is not about research for shelves—it is about real impact. Every action we take must move Nigeria closer to energy security, economic growth, social progress, and environmental sustainability. The inauguration was attended by a distinguished gathering of stakeholders—development partners, financial institutions, private investors, international organizations, traditional leaders, and technical experts—whose presence reaffirmed that the journey ahead is shared and supported. To the Committee members, led by @Dr_A_Mustapha, DG/CEO of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, I charge you to fast-track solutions that will define Nigeria’s energy trajectory for decades to come. The decisions we make today will shape the future of our nation tomorrow.
