The Lord knows we need more church workers; we truly do! Let us pray to that end. Yet, we do not need more people thinking they earn extra credit from God by leaving a nonreligious career path to do something more churchy. God delights in the good wherever it is done.

Don’t trust the process. Trust our Triune God. In life, we suffer. One thing we gain from suffering is a greater realization of God’s nearness. In a mysterious way, it also produces joy. This joy, gifted to us in Christ Jesus, soothes us in the middle of difficult experiences.
