Is it time to throw in the towel for posting services and sermons on YouTube? The megachurches can't even seem to make it click. One of my churches posts audio-only archives of its sermons via podcast platforms. They don't get astronomical traffic, but it's better than what my other church gets on its YouTube channel. The podcast RSS feed originates from the website, and we do a good job with the SEO on those posts, so they pick up good Google traffic as well. In fact, I think that's where the standout winners get most of their traffic. The other church posts full services on YouTube. They struggle to hit a couple dozen plays. The thing is, I think most churches struggle to get more than that on YouTube. I checked out LCMS megachurch King of Kings's YouTube - a church that big really has a hard time getting more than a few dozen views on their YouTube videos. I'm thinking of directing my other church away from YouTube!

The church is dark empty like the tomb on Easter morning awaiting the light and joy of Jesus' resurrection for his disciples. May that be today for us as well Lord Jesus. Amen. Keeping you all in prayer this morning as we get to celebrate that Good News! He is risen!

For any first time pastors leading their first Easter service, take comfort from my dad's first Easter service where he slept in, ran to the front of church and said, "He is risen! But I was not..." The Gospel rings loud and true today. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We dwell on the cross because of the cost of our sins for Jesus not the weight for us because the weight of our sins no longer has power over us. Thank you Jesus.

Recently I bought the game Jesus Simulator. From an entertainment standpoint...it's not very fun. But my goal is to finish it this Holy Week because it is full with Scripture and is a unique way to look at the Gospel.

At the beginning of the season, if you would have told me that the Twins would be .500 this late in the season, I never would have believed you.

@johnrabe Clarity of vision matters so much. And honesty builds trust. Rather than bandaid solutions or hardly trying at all to actually contend. We'll get there. We need to get that core established (hopefully we'll figure that out by the end of the year) and then build off of it.

I do miss the years where Opening Day carried the buzz of excitement for a possible contender. But I think this year is different from the last several because the organization now actually has a plan to contend, and today is the beginning. There's hope. Also, baseball! #STLCards

It's Opening Day which means good days or bad days (every day is a blessing from the Lord) is determined by how the Cardinals do. While we're rebuilding, I could see this team surprising people. I'm going to be optimistic and think we'll have at least 81 wins.

Finally got to read Spirituality of the Cross by Gene Vieth. I've heard so many good things and it lived up to the hype. The chapters on vocation and two kingdoms were fantastic. Also the audiobook is on Spotify Premium for free for anyone interested. Definitely will be rereading

Last year the Minnesota Zoo got a red panda exhibit. We've probably been there at least six times since then and today we finally saw them there! @ConcordForge thought you might appreciate this picture

@garonnevik @ConcordForge I heard they were more active in the winter...that had not been the case so far. I've never seen them so hidden at any other zoo 😅 today was the best though! Up close and very active.
