It was wonderful to visit Brookview Elementary, the winners of the 2018 Summer Literacy Adventure! I have visited 265 schools over the past 8 years & have loved sharing my passion of reading with FL students. Thank you to all the teachers who help students learn to love reading!

Today, @FLGovScott and I are celebrating our grandson, Auguste’s, 7th birthday. Happy birthday Auguste, we hope have a wonderful day. We love you so much!

Today, @FLAnnScott & I were proud to dedicate the Jeri Bustamante Memorial Scholarship for a student at @mbseniorhigh. This 4-year scholarship will help a student to live their American Dream. We’ll always remember Jeri & can think of no better way to honor her. @LopezCantera

Today we visited the @CmonLetsLearn museum featured in my children’s book, Ally and Jordi’s Adventures Through Florida. It’s great to see places like this in our state that offer educational opportunities for children to start learning early in their life.

It was great to stop by @EESpanthers this morning to read to some of their 2nd and 3rd graders. I love sharing my favorite stories with FL students.

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to visit @45thSpaceWing and learn all about the incredible things the base provides for our state and for our military families, as well as share some of my favorite books with the students at their Child Development Center.

I enjoyed hosting students from @FLVS at the Governor's Mansion this afternoon! I hope they will continue to be inspired to read as they begin school in a few weeks and throughout the school year.

This morning was our last stop of @EducationFL’s Summer Literacy Adventure at @FortMose State Park! I hope that FL students are inspired to continue reading and learning for the rest of their summer break. It’s not too late to take the SLA pledge at fldoe.org!

Great visit to the @NASJax_ Child Development Center and their Fleet & Family Support Center this afternoon. It’s wonderful to see military bases like this that offer so many resources for our brave soldiers and their families.

It was an honor to be with @JamesGrantFL at Frankie’s Patriot BBQ this afternoon to announce the dedication of the first Gold Star Family Memorial Bridge in FL and spend time with some of the families whose brave service members have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Joined @EducationFL tonight to announce Glades County Teacher Joy Prescott as FL’s 2019 Teacher of the Year for her excellence in teaching our FL students. Teachers and educators, thank you for the work that you do in and out of the classroom to make a difference in their lives.
