Hate to add to your to-do list, but this is an important one. I just had to dig out our furnace vent pipes—blocked vents can be extremely dangerous. It’s also worth checking that your gas meter is clear. Stay safe! #snow #HomeSafety

@NMedina5 @CathyMarksKrpan I agree. Front loaders require more care to avoid mould growth in the rubber seals. I switched back to a top loader.

@CathyMarksKrpan In my experience front loading washer leaks and always has a smell. The front loading dryer works fine. We had to buy a new washer and chose top loading for those reasons.

VERY off-topic post. Well kind of mathy argumentationish?? I would love advice... Top loading washer/dryer or front loading.. with front, can have a counter over top which I would love...But I would appreciate any insights from you out there..which do you prefer and why?

REMEMBERING: Milton mayor’s wife, Olive Krantz passed away New Year’s Eve at age 88, after more than a year in a long-term care home. Olive & Gord Krantz married for over 65 years, she was his backbone, who he often described as the ‘boss’. Deepest condolences!

@ONTSpecialNeeds I feel for this family. My daughter was assaulted by a classmate while my husband desperately listened helplessly on the phone, like the dad in this story. Criminal charges were laid, but a year and a half later we are still waiting for resolution.

@TiBachlr I’ve had the same stumble walk home from the Pig’s Ear. I was never alone though … she was brave to speak up. Many women worry in silence. In my day there was no such thing as a cell phone to call a friend in a situation like this.

@zeeke55 @ElanaMcdougall @paladine From my experience with my daughters, it’s getting harder for students to find places willing to take volunteers (and co-op students).

@ElanaMcdougall @paladine This should not qualify. Rules state it shouldn’t be for doing work someone would normally be paid for. Those hours would not be accepted towards the 40 total. It’s called community service.

Remember when Mike Harris invented the 40 hour volunteer requirement for HS graduation? And teachers warned it’d be abused? And teachers were told they were justnegative? Today, my groceries were bagged by a HS student for volunteer hrs- Yes, working for free. #onted
