@ZachsPower @FMwenge The completion of the IMF program might be our saving grace. There is hope that the government will ease austerity measures and, at the very least, begin to subsidize fuel prices.

International Energy Agency says current war's impact on oil prices is set to be WORSE than the 1970s oil crises. In Zambia’s economic history the 1970s were a turning point after independence – it also marked the start of Kaunda's political decline. Not looking good 😐. #Zambia

And today in the morning on HotFM, the energy PS was busy downplaying the issues and busy saying we are looking at the west side for solutions when things are getting worse by the hour

@FMwenge Just the kind of mind stimulating stuff I needed at their age. Ngatamunjangasha no kwangasha paliino nshita. But glad it had to start with our budding leaders. Hopefully it's not a one time lesson. Money matters should be a continuous lesson, especially to our children.

The IMF doesn’t measure your hunger. It measures exchange rate stability. Subsidy removal. Debt repayment compliance. When they say “Nigeria is on the right track” they mean the right track for creditors. Not for the 129 million eating once a day. This isn’t aid. It’s accounting.

There’s a pattern nobody talks about. Every time the IMF praises an African government, the people get poorer. Every. Single. Time. Nigeria just proved it. Again. Thread… 📍
