@GeneSteratore Game are fixed. Not necessarily from an outcome point of view, but they are controlling prop bets. Online gambling is so in your face when it comes to sports. For decisions to be made regarding a call outside of the field of play, it’s simply reeks of interference.

At some point when reviewing plays, the league should consider adding a speed threshold for anything involving the element of time. When you slow plays down to 1/100th the speed, it distorts what actually happened and makes it look like, in this case, Cooks possessed the ball for seconds prior to losing it. The game is not played in slow motion or frame by frame. For a catch: A) Secure control of the ball ✅ B) Two feet down in bounds ✅ C) After (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly performs any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. C is where there is a judgement needed since A and B are clearly met. Now consider this note to the rule: If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds. Because Cooks did lose control of the ball when he contacted the ground and the ball never contacted the ground, it was ruled an interception by Denver.

Someone asked me a question this morning and I’d love everyone’s input: If you had to choose only three things youth basketball coaches (age range 7-10ish) should focus on with their teams, what do you think that should be?

@FromTheSeidline Was it 100 public school AD’s? Was it at random? Was it a fair representation of the MHSAA members? I know this 15 year AD wasn’t polled.

An informal but revealing exercise: One hundred athletic directors across Michigan were asked whether private schools have an advantage over similarly-enrolled public schools, and, if so, whether a competitive balance plan should be considered by the MHSAA. Every respondent said "yes" to both questions, although there was nuance as one AD emphasized "some" private schools and the multiple solutions were not one-size-fits-all. This is exactly why the MHSAA should survey its membership and not rely solely on championship results. There's a big problem here and it's getting ignored. Good governance starts with listening...and the MHSAA membership deserves a voice! #ClubVsCommunity

@BadSportsRefs Just because the rules may say this is legal doesn’t mean it isn’t a travel. At every level and every league around the world this is a travel with the exception of the NBA. Probably why this stuff is unwatchable at times.

@MichFBFrenzy That’s a shame….Experienced head coach, two former head coaches on staff along with an experienced defensive coordinator. The staff wouldn’t let the kids be in charge, so the administration runs off a solid coach and staff. Unfortunately the team might not win another game.
