These scenarios for #IBS patients unfortunately occur FAR too often. I wonder how much added stress occurs in #IBS due to lack of healthcare provider understanding & inadequate treatment plan. This complex & heterogeneous condition often requires multi-disciplinary approach.

#TuesdayNightIBS Patient told pain was "in her head" related to stress and probably due to her gender. Dismissed by three different PCPs and not offered any DX or treatment options. Resorted to treating with restrictive diet, probiotics, heating pad= none effective

“Epstein's autopsy report found his neck had been broken in several places, including the hyoid bone. Forensic experts previously said that breakages to that specific bone could occur when people hanged themselves but were more commonly seen in victims who had been strangled”

Very interesting that paradoxical contraction of diaphragm seems to play a role in why eating lettuce triggers bloating & distention in some ppl. Iceberg has been a common trigger of digestive symptoms in my practice. 👇🏼
Miranda van Tilburg@DrvanTilburg

Many get bloated with certain foods. This interesting case study shows gas not always to blame. Lettuce is a low gas‐releasing food. Bloating due to uncoordinated activity of the abdominal walls. Avoiding food is not necessary in this case @AllergyKidsDoc onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
