Friends of Derby Park Bootle 🌳

We have collaborated with Bootle Family Events to bring Easter fun to Derby Park. There will be an Easter trail available throughout the school holidays. Please come along on 1st April and we will judge Easter bonnets and Easter masks. There are 3 prizes to give away 🐰🐰🐰

Our postponed Easter event took place this morning. Some fantastic Easter bonnets / hats on parade. Not sure about the Eggerton one 🤔 😄 lots of free drinks and chocolate dished out. Well done to all participants 👏🐰🐇🐣

Congratulations to our Chairperson Barbara and Treasurer Ken. Both were recognised for their voluntary work and received certificates from the Mayor. Thanks to @Sefton4Good for organising and providing refreshments 😊

I love Spring 🌷 today we swept up old leaves and mud, litter-picked and weeded. Nice to see bulbs that we planted flowering away, and primulas bursting into bloom.

If you would like an Easter mask to decorate these can be collected from Christ Church Hall on Oxford Road. Collection is on Good Friday between 11 and 12. Knock on the black door or ring the buzzer.

Our 2024 calendars are on sale. For just £6.50 you can have images of the park anywhere in your home. In additional you will be supporting the volunteers endeavours in our beautiful park. Message if interested 😊🌳

Sunshine, bees, birds, trees and volunteers 🙂 great session today. Despite our leader being under the weather, she still made it along today 🙌 nice to see the primulas we planted last years springing back to life.

A big thank you from Friends of Derby Park Bootle to everyone that helped our park look its best in the run up to North West in Bloom judging day. We know there are many of you who happily litter pick to do your bit, but don't necessarily post about it 🙌 #bootleunified

Our volunteers have cleared the steps up to the bowling green. The bowlers couldn't use the handrails due to overgrowth. The slimy steps have also been swept of leaves and detritus 🙌

Our amazing team of volunteers have been working hard. The fountain area looking good as always and the herbaceous borders are stunning 😍 #bootleunified
