how i built a trading bot with zero code: 345 wins. 26 losses. 93% win rate. no python knowledge. no stackoverflow. just me talking to an AI agent and iterating. here's the playbook: 1. start with the dumbest version possible. my first prompt was literally "build me a bot that bets on polymarket 15-minute markets" lost $11 on the first trade. but it worked. 2. iterate with real data. every time the bot lost money, i'd paste the trade log into claude and say "why did this lose? fix it." each loss = one prompt = one fix. 3. let the AI audit itself. set up a cron job that runs after every loss. reads the log, analyzes what went wrong, suggests fixes. the AI debugging itself. 4. brain + muscles trick. expensive model for complex decisions. cheap model for monitoring. free rule-based logic for actual trades. went from $300/month to $30/month in AI costs. 5. log everything. every trade, every decision, every loss with full forensics. when i say 345 wins that's from my actual log file. the bot runs 24/7 on a $600 mac mini. trades BTC, ETH, SOL every 15 minutes. the whole point: you don't need to know how to code. you need to know how to operate. describe what you want. test it with real money (small). paste the failures back in. iterate. the bot isn't smart. the process is.

Option 2 – trading-savvy Old leaders feel safe because they’re familiar, not because they’re leading. Every cycle rewrites the playbook — price action always exposes who’s actually in control. Option 3 – Minervini / CANSLIM tone Exactly. Strong stocks get stronger this cycle, not last one. Falling in love with former leaders is how traders miss emerging strength. Option 4 – psychological angle (very smart) Nostalgia is one of the most expensive biases in trading. The market doesn’t reward memory — it rewards adaptation. Option 5 – confident, almost quotable Markets don’t repeat leaders, they repeat behavior. And the behavior always shows up in price first.

One of the biggest traps in trading is falling in love with old leaders from past cycles. Just because they made you money before doesn’t mean they’ll lead again and I’ve seen this with some of the most experienced traders over the years too — names like Cisco eBay etc made them money in the 2000s and they keep going back to them thinking they’ll do it again. Each cycle brings its own themes its own leadership and if you’re stuck chasing yesterday’s winners you’re gonna miss what’s actually working now. If software made you money in 2020 that’s great but most of those names are in stage 4 downtrends now and are 30-40% off highs and it doesn’t mean you need to keep going back to them out of habit or nostalgia or wanting to feel good — price action doesn’t care about your memories. Each cycle = new leaders new themes new opportunities and the only thing that consistently pays is price trending up above the 10 and 21 day and if it’s below that it’s below for a reason.
