Atiku's game plan was simple. Keep Peter Obi in ADC till the primaries. Do the primaries and beat him blue and black. He'll have zero options at that moment and would even be lucky to have the VP slot. Now, with Obi out of the way, his supporters would now be gaslighted into voting Atiku in the name of one coalition. His voting base that really hates APC, would have no other option than to choose Atiku as their preferred candidate. Very easy calculation from Atiku's camp. 😂😂

@HarmlessHQ Alex stayed put in LP not because he had foresight (he definitely does), but because he doesn't want to be seen opposing Tinubu. Our democracy is in a perilous time. A time when an elected governor can be unseated by mere pronouncement by the president.

Alex Otti's decision to remain in the Labour Party is really making sense now. In politics, being able to predict the future ahead of you is an underrated skill.

Dear greedy igbo politicians, celebrities or traditional rulers. You're bad eggs. And any of you envious of Peter Obi will never attain the level of glory, authority and respect that God has bestowed on him. Most northern or South Western elites will not behave like you. End.

The Atiku-led ADC coalition was never going to oust Tinubu, even if all the bigwits (Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, et al.) stayed put in the coalition. Atiku/Obi failed against Buhari in 2019. Atiku/Obi would definitely have failed against a more ruthless BAT, the "Lord of the Rigs," ..

@chookaah @OurFavOnlineDoc You're right. I believe, however, that staying in a party he founded will make the coalition members to treat him with more respect. Also, because he founded it he would have a determining influence on who becomes the chairman.

A coalition was formed, bringing together opposition heavyweights, with Peter Obi as its shining star, yet you still drove such a man away! You had a leader with the goodwill of the masses, a fierce cult following, and over six million votes delivered in the last election through raw people power alone, no governors, no senators, no House of Assembly members. Even after brazen, widespread rigging robbed him of victory, you chased such a man away because of your greed. Now, what exactly is your grand plan for the ADC without Peter Obi at the forefront? Let’s call it what it is: this ADC is a trap! Atiku and his allies bring nothing, no vision, no strategy, no political weight at all. Someone who could do anything with the support of 14 PDP governors in 2023, what will he do with a spineless ADC?

Clarification on My Political Position We have noted recent media reports and discussions suggesting a possible realignment within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to the current challenges facing the party. In light of the misleading narratives in the public domain, I wish to state categorically that no final decision has been taken regarding my political future or that of my political associates. The recent Supreme Court judgment, while affirming the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC), also remitted the matter back to the High Court. This has left the party in a precarious position. In addition, the Federal High Court has recently ruled to delegitimise the party’s recent convention. The Attorney General of the Federation has also strangely applied to a Federal High Court to deregister the ADC. We left the NNPP due to externally influenced legal problems that made our stay perilous. The ADC has now been also forced into this difficulty. Consequently, like other major stakeholders, we have commenced wide-ranging consultations — including with leaders from the NDC, PRP and others to explore the best options for protecting our democratic interests. We shall announce our decision in the soonest possible time. On the issue of presidential candidacy, I wish to recall my consistent record as a committed democrat. In the 2014 APC presidential primary, I came second to President Muhammadu Buhari (whom I fully supported to victory), with Atiku Abubakar third, Rochas Okorocha fourth, and the late Sam Nda-Isaiah fifth. Similarly, in 2019, I contested the PDP presidential ticket and immediately supported the winner, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, serving as the campaign’s coordinator in the North. I have always placed national interest and party unity above personal ambition. Furthermore, the ADC is yet to zone its presidential ticket or take any decision on a candidate. I have therefore neither declared any intention to run for president nor endorsed any aspirant. All speculations to the contrary are premature and unfounded. My absence from the two recent ADC stakeholders’ meetings was due to unavoidable personal commitments. I promptly communicated my apologies to the party leadership. We shall continue to engage constructively at all levels. Any definitive position on our political direction will be communicated formally through official channels at the appropriate time. Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE Former Governor, Kano State Former Minster of Defence

Workers Are the Backbone of Every Nation On this Workers’ Day, I warmly salute workers across the world, especially Nigerian workers whose daily sacrifices continue to sustain our families, communities, institutions, and national economy, even in the face of severe hardship and uncertainty. It is deeply painful that those who wake up every day to teach, heal, build, farm, produce, transport, protect, and serve our nation are still denied the dignity and fair reward their labour deserves. In today’s Nigeria, the minimum wage can no longer guarantee even the most modest standard of living, as inflation, rising food prices, transportation costs, and economic hardship continue to erode the value of honest work. No nation can truly develop beyond the strength, productivity, and wellbeing of its workforce. The progress of any society rests on the quality of its human capital, the skill of its people, and the commitment of its workers. When workers suffer, the nation suffers. When workers are empowered, the nation prospers. But beyond their labour, workers also possess another powerful tool, their voice and their vote. Through democratic participation, they have the power to shape governance and determine the future direction of the nation. I therefore urge Nigerian workers to recognise the strength they hold collectively. They owe it to themselves, their children, and future generations to support and demand leadership built on competence, character, capacity, credibility, and compassion. By refusing to reward failure, corruption, ethnic division, and bad governance, they can help build a nation where hard work is respected and rewarded with dignity. A productive nation must be built on justice, fairness, and respect for labour. That is the Nigeria we must work together to achieve. With the support and participation of Nigerian workers, a New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

It’s still not too late to leave Nigeria. If you have the means. If there’s a clear, legitimate pathway to citizenship wherever you choose to go, take it seriously. Sometimes, the bold decision to move is the one that opens the door to stability, growth, and a better future.

@Optician_Mercy Anam speaks Omambala, the dialect spoken by Aguleri, Umueri, Ayamelun, Nsugbe and all other communities surrounding the Omambala River. You mean Onitsha people don't understand these dialects? Your statement is outrageous.

How can you claim Anambra speaks central igbo, when different towns in anambra hardly understand each other. An onicha man can barely understand the dialect of an anam person.

The past four VCs of UNN need to be arrested and thrown into a maximum-security prison. They should be made to remain there until they explain why they left UNNs infrastructure in such deplorable condition.

🎓 If you are a student, staff member, alumnus, parent, or simply interested in the story of University of Nigeria, Nsukka hostels, come closer. Did you know that beyond the N44,000 hostel accommodation and allocation fee reportedly paid by each student, the Federal Government also disbursed a total of N594.6m between 2022–2025 for hostel-related projects in the university, largely for rehabilitation and a few construction works? In 2025 alone, a total sum of N125.79m was paid for the same purpose. This is aside from other allocations made to the institution for different needs. With an average of four students to a room in many cases, students and other stakehoders deserve to know: 🏠 Which hostels were rehabilitated? 🏠 What exact work was done? 🏠 Which contractors received these funds? 🏠 Were the projects completed to standard? 🏠 Why are accommodation pressures still common? Public education funds must translate into decent living conditions, safe hostels, and better welfare for students. We are publishing the list below so stakeholders can see who got what and for what purpose. If Nigeria must work, public institutions must answer questions and public money must show results. #publicfundsmustworkforthegoodofthepeople
